Thursday's Forecast

Wednesday, October 15, 2008

Short-Term Discussion: An approaching cool front should bring clouds and showers for tomorrow. Much cooler air will move in behind this system but probably won’t be real noticeable until Friday. Air-quality readings have fallen in the last several hours and should return to the good range by tomorrow.

Increasing clouds overnight with temperatures falling into the mid 50s. Cloudy with rain developing during the day on Thursday, most likely starting shortly after sunrise. Rain may end by Thursday evening. Temperatures will rise towards 70 degrees by noon but should begin falling in the afternoon. Increasing winds and decreasing background concentrations should ensure Thursday’s fine-particulate concentrations fall into the code GREEN (good) range.

Extended: Expect much cooler weather in the long term with temperatures only expected to be in the 50s and 60s for highs this weekend with frost a distinct possibility. Air quality readings should move back into the good range for the extended period.
