DEP Announces No-Cost Trainings

HARRISBURG (Dec. 3) – DEP’s Technology Deployment Division recently announced the following December 2008/January 2009 schedule of upcoming no-cost Internet-based training courses for anyone with an interest in learning more about innovative environmental technologies and approaches specific to areas of site characterization, monitoring and remediation as well as other environmental topics. The training is provided by the Interstate Technology & Regulatory Council (ITRC).

ITRC is a state-led coalition working together with industry and stakeholders to achieve regulatory acceptance of environmental technologies. The council is a program of the Environmental Research Institute of the States, a nonprofit corporation operating in support of the Environmental Council of the States (ECOS).

Following is a list of upcoming course dates and times:

Dec. 11 - Overview of Direct Push Well Technology for Long-term Groundwater Monitoring, 11 a.m.- 1:15 p.m.
Jan. 6 - Use of Risk Assessment in Management of Contaminated Sites, 2 p.m.- 4:15 p.m.
Jan. 15 - Quality Consideration for Munitions Response, 11 a.m.- 1:15 p.m.
Jan. 22 - Perchlorate Remediation Technologies, 11 a.m.- 1:15 p.m.
